X2 means the away team is expected to either win or draw.

Draw No Bet (DNB) means the selected team must win for the bet to win, while a draw normally results in the stake being returned.

‘Over 1.5 goals’ requires at least two goals in the match.

Under 2.5 goals requires fewer than three total goals.

Under 3.5 goals requires fewer than four total goals.

Understanding the market is just as important as choosing the fixture.

Should You Combine All Today’s Predictions?

We strongly recommend not putting all of these selections on one accumulator ticket.

Although combining several predictions can produce much higher potential returns, the risk also increases significantly because one unsuccessful selection can affect the entire ticket.

Instead, consider studying individual fixtures and selecting only the markets that best match your own analysis and risk tolerance.

These predictions are provided as football analysis and should not be viewed as guaranteed winning tips.

Porto vs Alverca Prediction

Portugal Primeira Liga

Venue: Estádio do Dragão

Kick-off: 18:00

Prediction: Porto to Win (1)

Porto begin the defence of their Primeira Liga title on Sunday when they welcome Alverca to the Estádio do Dragão.

The Dragons will enter the opening fixture with plenty of confidence after an impressive league campaign last season, while Alverca will be looking to build on a successful return to Portugal’s top division.

Porto Begin Their Title Defence

Porto were crowned Portuguese champions last season after finishing six points clear at the top of the table.

Their campaign was particularly impressive, with the club collecting 88 points from 34 league matches. Under Francesco Farioli, who was appointed in July 2025, Porto produced one of their strongest league campaigns in recent years.

The title was Porto’s first in four seasons and the club’s 31st Portuguese championship.

Their league record demonstrated remarkable consistency. Porto lost only two of their 34 matches, winning 28 and drawing four.

That combination of attacking quality and defensive organisation made them extremely difficult to beat throughout the campaign, particularly at home.

However, Porto’s success in the league did not extend to every competition.

They were eliminated from the Taca da Liga and Europa League at the quarter-final stage, while Sporting Lisbon ended their Taca de Portugal campaign in the semi-finals.

Nevertheless, reclaiming the Primeira Liga title was the club’s main objective, and Farioli’s side achieved it convincingly.

Porto Have the Head-to-Head Advantage

Porto also has an excellent recent record against Alverca.

The Dragons have prevented Alverca from scoring in five of their last six meetings, while Porto have won five of those encounters.

Last season’s two league meetings were particularly one-sided, with Porto securing a 4-0 aggregate victory.

That recent dominance gives the hosts another reason to be confident heading into Sunday’s contest.

Alverca Looking to Build on last Season

For Alverca, surviving their first season back in the Portuguese top flight was a significant achievement.

The Ribatejo-based club returned to the Primeira Liga after more than two decades away and finished 11th in the standings, comfortably avoiding relegation.

Custódio Castro deserves credit for helping Alverca establish themselves at the highest level and compete successfully against more experienced top-flight clubs.

However, a trip to the Estádio do Dragão represents a considerably tougher challenge.

Alverca will need to remain organised defensively and take advantage of any opportunities they create on the counterattack.

Porto’s defensive strength was once again on display in their Super Cup victory over Torreense last weekend.

A strong defence can be particularly important at the beginning of a new league campaign, when teams are still finding their rhythm.

Against an Alverca side that has struggled to score against Porto in recent meetings, the home team should have enough quality and organisation to control the match.

Porto’s home advantage, superior squad depth, recent head-to-head record and impressive league campaign all point towards a home victory.
